Amnesty International submits the following information to the United Nations (UN) Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), in advance of its examination of Finland’s seventh periodic report in February 2014, submitted under article 18 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (the Convention).
The submission focuses on the following issues from the List of Issues in relation to the seventh periodic report of Finland: legal gender recognition and discrimination of trans individuals; violence against women; trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation; and health in forced removals.
