What: Demonstration demanding a stop to the growing homelessness crisis in Finland
Where: The march starts in front of the Kiasma museum (Mannerheimin aukio) and ends in front of the House of Parliament.
When: Friday 16th October at 15.00-15.50.
The sharp rise in homelessness cannot be accepted. Decision-makers must change course and act now to tackle homelessness in Finland. Let us stand together in demanding that safe, stable, and affordable housing be guaranteed for everyone.
There are 4579 people experiencing homelessness in Finland. A total of 758 people sleep rough outdoors, in stairwells or shelters.
Homelessness increased by 20 percent last year compared to 2024. Homelessness in Finland has now risen for two consecutive years. Housing allowance and last-resort social assistance have been reduced. Evictions have been increasing, and there is a lack of affordable housing.
